Inspiron Duo button emulation?

I recently got a Dell Inspiron Duo laptop. I use multiple applications that run fullscreen, and as such I like to utilize my touch screen to its fullest. Unfortunately, this blocks off the keyboard needed by those same applications. What I want to know is this: Is there a way to designate certain areas of my touchscreen to emulate keystrokes?
